Apply for registration only if you have never previously been registered with the Physiotherapy Board | te Poari Tiaki Tinana. If you have held registration at any time, do not submit a new application, please contact the Board at [email protected] for assistance.
1. Create an Account
To apply for registration, you must first create an account in the Board’s online system. For guidance on how to create an account, please refer to the instructions provided separately.
2. Determine Your Registration Pathway
Your registration pathway is based on the following factors:
- The country in which you obtained your primary physiotherapy qualification; and
- The country or countries where you are currently registered to practise physiotherapy.
For detailed information on each registration pathway and the associated criteria, please refer to I Want to Be Registered – Physiotherapy Board Please note: The system will automatically assign the appropriate registration pathway once you have completed the application form in full, meaning both the qualification and specific country of registration details. See example below where qualification is India, but United Kingdom registration information was added under “Specific Country Registration Details”:

3. Start a New Application
Log in to the portal and select “Application for Registration” under the “New Submissions” section.

4. Complete the Application Form
You are required to complete all sections of the application, including:
- Privacy Statement
- Identity
- Qualifications
- Specific Country Registration Details (where applicable)
- Fitness to Practise
- Declaration
- Payment Details
Supporting Documentation:
All supporting documents must be either:
- Certified copies; or
- Sent directly from the issuing authority to [email protected]

5. Submit and Pay
Once you have submitted your application, you will be prompted to complete payment.
