This episode is the last of three in which Board Te Poari professional advisor Maarama Davis talks with intersex activist and counsellor, Mani Mitchell MNZM. Mani is a Rainbow‐identifying person who has devoted much of their life to educating people about the lived reality of people who are non‐binary, lecturing at universities and running workshops around the world. They also have experience of the health system as a kiritaki patient and were on the working group involved with revising the Board te Poari Cultural safety and cultural competence standard.
This third episode focuses on “cultural safety, competence and responsiveness” and during the episode Mani and Maarama mention the pioneering medical educator Irihapeti Ramsden who passed away in 2003.
